LOUIS ARMAND was born in Sydney and since 1994 has lived in Prague, where he is the director of the Centre for Critical; Cultural Theory at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University. He is the author of four volumes of prose fiction, the fifth one, Canicule, is due out with Equus Press in April 2013 and has authored and edited a dozen volumes of non-fiction, including Contemporary Poetics (Evanston: Northwestern University Press, 2007). He is the author of eight collections of poetry, most recently Synopticon with John Kinsella (2012). His screenplay Clair Obscur won honourable mention at the 2009 Trieste Film Festival. He is general editor at the Prague-based publishing house Litteraria Pragensia Books, the editor ov VLAK magazine and the founder of the Prague International Poetry Festival (2005), as well as Prague Micro-Festival (2009-).
